The Mithila region, with its profound cultural heritage and historical significance, encompasses parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Nepal. Despite its rich history and cultural assets, tourism in this region remains underdeveloped, often overshadowed by more prominent tourist destinations in India and Nepal. This paper explores strategic approaches to enhancing tourism in Mithila from both cultural and economic perspectives. By analyzing the region’s key historical sites, cultural practices, and current economic contributions, the paper proposes sustainable development strategies that can revitalize Mithila’s tourism industry, preserve its rich heritage, and contribute to the economic upliftment of the local communities.
