Abstract

Stress has become a common issue among nurses and healthcare workers due to increasing workload, abnormal working environment, long working hours, emotional pressure, and responsibility for patient care. High levels of stress can negatively affect the physical and mental health of healthcare employees, reduce job satisfaction, and influence the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. Consequently, managing stress has emerged as a crucial element in hospital administration and the welfare of employees. This study examines the reasons behind stress in nurses and healthcare professionals while evaluating the stress management strategies implemented in healthcare institutions. The research additionally explores how workplace stress affects employee performance, productivity, and the quality of patient care services. The study can utilize both primary and secondary data obtained from questionnaires, interviews, hospital records, journals, and research articles. The findings of the study are expected to help hospitals and healthcare institutions identify major stress factors and implement effective stress management techniques such as counseling, training programs, meditation, flexible work schedules, and employee support systems. Effective stress management can improve employee satisfaction, enhance work efficiency, and contribute to better healthcare service delivery.

Full Article/Conclusion

Stress has become a major issue among nurses and healthcare workers due to increasing workload, long working hours, emergency responsibilities, staff shortages, and emotional involvement in patient care. The study found that workplace stress not only affects the physical and mental health of healthcare employees but also influences their job satisfaction, work performance, and the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. The research identified heavy workload, long duty hours, poor working environment, and emergency pressure as the major causes of stress among healthcare workers. The findings also showed that employees working for longer hours experience higher levels of stress and fatigue. Continuous workplace stress may lead to burnout, anxiety, low motivation, absenteeism, and reduced efficiency in healthcare institutions. The study further revealed that effective stress management techniques such as meditation, yoga, counseling, recreational activities, time management, and supportive workplace practices can help reduce occupational stress and improve employee well-being. Hospitals and healthcare organizations that provide supportive work environments and employee wellness programs are more successful in maintaining employee satisfaction and work efficiency. Therefore, healthcare institutions should give proper attention to employee mental health and adopt effective stress management strategies to create a healthy and productive work environment. Proper stress management not only benefits healthcare workers but also improves organizational performance and patient care quality.
