Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and propane are widely used fuels in industrial and domestic sectors. During tanker loading operations, hydrocarbon vapors are released into the atmosphere, exposing workers to potentially hazardous conditions. This study investigates the extent of atmospheric hydrocarbon exposure during LPG and propane loading and evaluates its impact on workers’ physical and physiological well-being. The findings indicate that prolonged exposure to hydrocarbon vapors can adversely affect respiratory, cardiovascular, and metabolic health. The paper also discusses mitigation strategies to reduce occupational exposure and enhance workplace safety.
KEYWORDS
Atmospheric hydrocarbon exposure during LPG and propane loading activities is a critical occupational hazard. Prolonged exposure adversely affects worker health, particularly respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Effective mitigation strategies, including improved equipment design, monitoring systems, and safety protocols, are essential to protect workers and enhance operational safety.
