The Digital Attendance System using Face Recognition is an advanced solution developed to automate and enhance traditional attendance management processes. Conventional methods such as manual registers, RFID-based systems, and biometric techniques are often time-consuming, prone to errors, and susceptible to proxy attendance. This survey paper presents a comprehensive analysis of various attendance systems, including manual, RFID, biometric, and face recognition-based approaches. Face recognition technology utilizes artificial intelligence and computer vision techniques to identify individuals based on unique facial features, enabling contactless and real-time attendance marking. The system typically consists of modules such as face detection, feature extraction, recognition, and database management for storing attendance records. The proposed approach improves accuracy, reduces administrative workload, and enhances security compared to traditional methods. This paper also discusses the advantages, limitations, and challenges of different techniques and highlights the growing importance of intelligent and automated attendance systems. Furthermore, it outlines future research directions, including the integration of deep learning, cloud computing, and mobile-based solutions for improved performance and scalability.

The Digital Attendance System using Face Recognition presents an efficient and modern solution to the limitations of traditional attendance management methods. Conventional approaches such as manual registers, RFID-based systems, and biometric fingerprint devices are often time-consuming, prone to errors, and vulnerable to proxy attendance. These drawbacks reduce the reliability and effectiveness of attendance records in educational institutions and organizations. The proposed system addresses these issues by automating the entire attendance process using face recognition technology. By leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision techniques, the system is capable of accurately identifying individuals based on unique facial features and marking attendance in real time. This contactless approach not only improves accuracy and efficiency but also ensures a hygienic and user-friendly experience. Additionally, the integration of a centralized database enables efficient storage, management, and retrieval of attendance records, making the system scalable and reliable. The elimination of manual intervention reduces administrative workload and minimizes human errors, while also enhancing security by preventing unauthorized or proxy attendance. Although certain challenges such as variations in lighting conditions, facial expressions, and hardware limitations may affect system performance, these issues can be effectively addressed through the use of advanced algorithms and improved technologies. Overall, the Digital Attendance System using Face Recognition represents a significant advancement in attendance management, offering a secure, accurate, and automated solution. With further enhancements and integration of emerging technologies, the system has strong potential to be widely adopted in real world applications.
