Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies have transformed modern product development by improving design accuracy, reducing development time, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. CAD enables engineers to create, modify, analyze, and optimize product designs digitally, while CAM facilitates the automation of manufacturing processes using computer-controlled machinery. The integration of CAD and CAM ensures seamless data transfer from design to production, minimizing errors and improving product quality. This paper examines the applications of CAD/CAM technology in product development, highlighting its role in design visualization, rapid prototyping, process planning, and production automation. The study also discusses the benefits, challenges, and future prospects of CAD/CAM systems in modern industries. The findings indicate that CAD/CAM technology significantly improves productivity, reduces costs, and enhances innovation in product development
KEYWORDS
CAD/CAM technology plays a crucial role in modern product development by integrating design and manufacturing processes. The technology enhances design accuracy, reduces production time, minimizes errors, and improves overall product quality. Industries utilizing CAD/CAM systems gain a competitive advantage through increased productivity and reduced operational costs. Future advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital manufacturing are expected to further expand the capabilities of CAD/CAM systems, making them indispensable tools for product development.
