This study investigates the relationship between internal marketing and organizational performance using structural equation modeling (SEM). Drawing on service-dominant logic and social exchange theory, we examined how internal marketing practices influence organizational performance through employee satisfaction and engagement. Data were collected from 387 employees across 42 organizations in the service sector. The SEM analysis revealed that internal marketing significantly positively impacts organizational performance (β = 0.42, p < .001), with employee satisfaction (β = 0.31, p < .001) and employee engagement (β = 0.38, p < .001) serving as significant mediators. The proposed model demonstrated excellent fit indices (χ²/df = 2.18, CFI = 0.96, TLI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.05, SRMR = 0.04). These findings underscore the strategic importance of internal marketing as a driver of organizational success and provide practical implications for managers seeking to enhance performance through internal stakeholder management.
KEYWORDS
This study rigorously examined the impact of internal marketing on organizational performance using structural equation modeling with a sample of 387 employees from 42 service sector organizations. The findings provide compelling evidence that internal marketing significantly enhances organizational performance (β = .42, p < .001), with employee satisfaction (indirect β = .31) and employee engagement (indirect β = .38) serving as significant mediators. The proposed model demonstrated excellent fit indices (CFI = .96, RMSEA = .05), supporting the theoretical framework grounded in service-dominant logic and social exchange theory. The research makes important theoretical contributions by validating a comprehensive multidimensional internal marketing framework, integrating mediation mechanisms, and employing rigorous SEM methodology that addresses previous literature limitations. Practically, the findings justify strategic investment in comprehensive internal marketing programs, with particular emphasis on engagement-enhancing practices and sequential implementation strategies.[3][4][1] While limitations regarding cross-sectional design, self-report measures, and sector specificity warrant caution in generalization, the robust findings advance understanding of how organizations can leverage internal marketing for performance enhancement. Future research should pursue longitudinal designs, cross-cultural comparisons, objective performance metrics, and emerging areas such as green internal marketing and digital transformation.[8][1] As organizations increasingly recognize employees as sources of sustainable competitive advantage, internal marketing emerges not as an optional practice but as a strategic imperative. This study provides empirical validation and practical guidance for organizations seeking to harness internal marketing's potential for organizational success.
