Abstract

Traffic sign recognition is an essential component of intelligent transportation systems aimed at improving road safety and driver awareness. This paper presents a web-based Traffic Sign Recognition System with Deep Learning that accurately classifies traffic signs from user-uploaded images. The proposed system utilizes a pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to perform real-time image recognition by automatically extracting relevant visual features. The model is designed to handle variations in lighting, orientation, and background, ensuring reliable and efficient performance. The application includes secure user registration and login functionality, along with an administrative panel for effective user management and system monitoring. An integrated FAQ section enhances accessibility and user understanding. Developed with a focus on usability, scalability, and performance, the platform enables non-technical users to easily access advanced AI-based image classification capabilities through an intuitive web interface. By combining deep learning techniques with a practical web deployment framework, the system bridges the gap between advanced machine learning technology and real-world traffic sign education. The proposed solution supports safer driving practices, promotes awareness of traffic regulations, and serves as a reliable tool for both administrators and end users.

Full Article/Conclusion

The development of the Traffic Sign Recognition System with Deep Learning provides an efficient and dependable solution for the automated classification of road indicators. By bridging the gap between cutting-edge machine learning technology and practical web-based accessibility, the system serves as a vital tool for improving intelligent transport systems and road safety awareness. Through a rigorous methodology, this research successfully integrated a high-performance Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) capable of interpreting complex visual data with a commendable accuracy rate of approximately 95%. The system's technical, financial, and operational feasibility were confirmed through detailed study, ensuring it is a commercially viable platform with low overhead and high utility for drivers and educators alike. The implementation of distinct user and administrator roles ensures a secure and well-managed environment. While users benefit from real-time predictions and educational resources like the FAQ section, administrators maintain the platform’s integrity through robust user management and content moderation. Systematic testing across unit, integration, and system levels further validates that the application is resilient, scalable, and prepared for real-world scenarios. In summary, this project demonstrates the transformative power of AI when integrated into practical web applications. It addresses the inherent limitations of manual traffic sign identification—such as human error and environmental interference—by providing a smart, automated alternative. Ultimately, this work contributes to a safer transportation landscape by empowering ordinary users with sophisticated tools to better understand and follow the rules of the road.
