The Two-way Sign Language Translator is a Python-based desktop application designed to bridge communication gaps for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing by enabling bidirectional translation between text and sign language. The system supports two primary functionalities: text-to-sign, which converts typed text into animated sign language gestures, and sign-to-text, which recognizes hand gestures captured via a webcam using a convolutional neural network (CNN). Developed with Tkinter for the graphical user interface, OpenCV for real-time video processing, Keras for machine learning, and Pytesseract for optical character recognition (OCR), the system integrates advanced computer vision and image processing techniques.
