California’s low-carbon transportation targets depend on the use of plug-in electric vehicles, but the high cost of these vehicles continues to be a hurdle. Technologies that connect vehicles to the grid may offer both financial advantages and chances for system stabilisation. In order to investigate revenue generating, the U.S. Department of Defence held a demonstration at Los Angeles Air Force Base. Reusing battery packs can save ownership costs over time, minimizing environmental effects and battery replacement expenses. In order to support clients who are prepared to donate their assets for vehicle-to-grid applications with compensation schemes, this study measures battery life and performance for both present and future vehicle-to-grid use in California.
