Abstract

One of the major sources, which waste the environment is the wastewater produced from the different industries and from human activity. Coagulation and flocculation process are physical-chemical methods that widely used in the treatment of wastewater. Today the prime concern of the environment engineers is how to lower the coagulants and flocculants cost and improve the characteristics of wastewater. In this work natural coagulant such as Moringa olifrra, Cactus,Sagarmaize,Colotropisprocera, Prosopisjuliflora ,Nirmali, Trigonell afoenum- guaiacum, Dolichos lablab, Okra used as coagulant in wastewatertreatment. Inorganic Coagulant are Aluminum sulphate,Aluminum chlorohydrate,Polyaluminium chloride, Aluminum chlorohydrate used as inorganic coagulant in wastewater treatment Through coagulation, wastewater treatment plants can remove the impurities in wastewater and further treat it to be usable again Treated wastewater is also less harmful when returned to the environment

Full Article/Conclusion

1)     Natural Coagulant does not have any effect on human health 2)     Chemical coagulant Sludge   produced    is   voluminous   and   non-biodegradable   after   treatment   and   therefore poses disposal problems leading to increase cost of treatment.  3)     Chemical coagulant cost is increasing day by day. 4)     Preparation of chemical coagulant required substitute chemical. Natural coagulant is easily manufactured. 5)     All coagulants are easily available. 6)     At the time of application of dose daily fresh solution should prepared. 7)     Among theTwo natural coagulants used in the study, maximum turbidity reduction is found to be 82.02%with Moringa oleifera.
