Wireless communication technologies serve as the foundation for modern real-time data acqui- sition systems, which find applications in various fields such as healthcare, industrial automation, environmental monitoring, and home automa- tion. Among these technologies, Zigbee and RF modules stand out due to their reliability, low power consumption, and cost-effectiveness. This paper thoroughly discusses key features includ- ing network topologies, signal processing tech- niques, and the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. It evaluates the performance of these technologies based on metrics such as range, data rate, energy efficiency, and interference management, while also highlighting their advantages and limita- tions. Proposed future directions include the integration of artificial intelligence, the devel- opment of hybrid communication systems, and the design of energy-efficient solutions. This sur- vey serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners seeking to optimize Zigbee and RF communication systems for next-generation real-time applications.
