Abstract

The present study titled “A Study on the Awareness and Effectiveness of Business Intelligence Tools in Decision-Making” focuses on understanding the awareness, usage, and effectiveness of Business Intelligence (BI) tools among students, faculty members, and professionals. In today’s competitive business environment, organizations generate a huge amount of data, and Business Intelligence tools help in converting this data into meaningful information for effective decision-making. The study examines how BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and Google Looker Studio support data analysis, reporting, dashboard creation, and strategic planning. The research is based on a quantitative and descriptive research design. Primary data was collected through structured questionnaires and online survey forms from approximately 75 respondents. The findings reveal that most respondents are aware of BI tools and believe that these tools improve organizational productivity, save time in report preparation, and support faster decision-making. The study also highlights that data visualization features make complex business data easier to understand. However, some challenges such as lack of technical knowledge and training requirements were also identified. Overall, the study concludes that Business Intelligence tools play a significant role in improving business performance, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making in modern organizations.
