Abstract

Venture capital financing has become an important source of equity funding for innovative startups and high-growth businesses in Telangana. This study examines venture capital awareness, investment decision factors, funding accessibility, startup development, and the contribution of venture capital to entrepreneurship. The study uses primary and secondary data, with responses collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire. Percentage analysis is used to interpret the responses. The findings indicate positive awareness of venture capital, its contribution to startup growth, innovation, employment, and business expansion. However, competition, investment scrutiny, limited investor access, and inadequate awareness continue to create serious funding challenges today.

Full Article/Conclusion

Venture capital financing has become an important component of Telangana's entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing equity finance and strategic support to innovative and high-growth businesses. The study indicates that respondents generally possess a positive understanding of venture capital and recognize its contribution to startup development. Venture capital provides more than financial assistance by offering management guidance, networking opportunities, strategic advice, mentoring, and market support. The findings also indicate that innovation, experienced management, market potential, scalability, and sustainable business models influence investment decisions. Government initiatives, incubation centres, innovation programmes, T-Hub, and WE Hub have contributed to creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurship and startup financing. At the same time, entrepreneurs continue to face difficulties arising from intense funding competition, stringent investment appraisal, limited investor access, inadequate awareness, and weaknesses in financial and business planning. Strengthening entrepreneur education, investment readiness, investor networks, incubation support, and government–industry collaboration can improve access to venture capital. Overall, venture capital financing has considerable potential to promote startup growth, innovation, employment generation, business expansion, and economic development in Telangana State.
