Employee engagement and retention are widely recognized as strategic drivers of organizational performance, particularly in labor-intensive industries such as food manufacturing. This study examines the level of employee engagement and its influence on retention strategies at DINETECH FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED, Chennai. A structured questionnaire was administered to 125 employees across various departments including production, quality control, logistics, and administration. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, chi-square test, and multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal that employees exhibit moderate to high engagement levels, with strong interpersonal relationships and a positive work environment contributing significantly to engagement. The Pearson correlation result (r = 0.869, p < 0.01) confirms a strong positive relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction. Regression analysis indicates that salary, work environment, and work-life balance significantly influence employees’ intention to remain in the organization, explaining 65.8% of variance in retention behavior. The study concludes that effective human resource practices significantly enhance employee engagement and retention.
