Abstract

This research paper aims to explore the application of green adaptive facades in mixed-use high-rise buildings located in tropical climates. The objectives of this research are to evaluate the benefits of green adaptive facades, analyse their performance in terms of energy efficiency and occupant comfort, identify suitable design strategies, and assess their feasibility and potential for implementation. The methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, case studies of existing projects, and analysis of the collected data. The scope of this paper focuses on the specific challenges and opportunities associated with green adaptive facades in mixed-use high-rise buildings in tropical climates.

Full Article/Conclusion

Sustainable building design, particularly in mixed-use high-rise buildings, is crucial for reducing energy consumption and improving occupant comfort. Adaptive facades play a significant role in achieving these goals by optimising energy performance, enhancing occupant comfort, and providing flexibility to meet the diverse needs of residential, hotel, and office spaces. As the importance of sustainability grows, the integration of adaptive facades will continue to be a key aspect of building design, contributing to a more sustainable and comfortable built environment.
