With globalization, market demands are increasing, customer expectations are changing, and the logistics industry is facing growing pressure to maintain operational efficiency and workforce stability. Human resource management has become a critical factor in supporting organizational performance by attracting, developing, and retaining skilled employees in the organization. This paper throws light on the the major human resource challenges faced in the logistics and supply chain sector, such as skill gap, high employee turnover, shortage of talent, odd working hours, compensation issues, and the management of a diverse workforce. The study highlights the impact of digital transformation and the growing need for systematic and continuous training and digital upskilling among employees. Through a review of existing review of literature and industry observations, the paper emphasizes the importance of effective talent management, employee retention strategies, flexible work practices, and competency development in achieving sustainable growth. The study concludes that strong HR policies, workforce development initiatives, and strategic collaboration with educational institutions are essential for building a skilled, adaptable, and future-ready logistics workforce capable of meeting the dynamic demands of the global supply chain environment.

Due to the increase in the demand of goods there is a rapid growth of logistics and supply chain. Logistics has the capability of integrating one’s economy with the world. The advent of globalization and the competitive world is pushing organizations for different strategies to attain a competitive advantage over their competitors. Some of the issues like low salaries, inappropriate compensation salaries, uncertain career paths, odd working hours are major issues faces by Hrs in logistics and supply chain. The growing age population and reduction in growth rate in developed nations, and the development of other lucrative industries in developing economies pose a severe threat to the supply of workforce to the logistic Industry. Resilient and adaptable logistics systems that can ensure continuity of operation and minimize losses during supply chain disruptions, such as port closure or labour strikes, or natural calamities like those experienced during the COVID pandemic or driver shortages in the UK, cannot be achieved without the development of human resource capabilities. To overcome the challenges, the industry should focus on employee training and development, skill development, bridging skill gap, digital upskilling, strategic planning. Companies should focus on improving employee satisfaction such as flexible working hours, fair compensation, and clear career growth opportunities. Strong HR policies, modern workforce management systems, and inclusive leadership can help manage diverse global teams efficiently. Building partnerships with educational institutions and training centers will also help create a skilled and future-ready talent pipeline.
