Attendance management is an important task in ed-ucational institutions and organizations because it helps maintain discipline, monitor student participation, and improve academic performance. Traditional attendance methods such as manual registers and paper-based systems consume time and are prone to human errors and proxy attendance. To overcome these prob-lems, this paper presents a Smart Attendance Monitoring System using Face Recognition and Wi-Fi based Location Tracking. The proposed system combines computer vision, biometric authenti-cation, and wireless communication technologies to automate the attendance process in classrooms. The system captures students’ facial images through a camera and identifies them using face recognition algorithms. Wi-Fi and classroom location tracking are used to ensure that attendance is marked only when students are physically present inside the classroom. The system stores attendance records automatically in a secure database and generates reports for teachers and administrators. This method reduces manual effort, improves accuracy, minimizes fake attendance, and saves classroom time. The proposed solution is user-friendly, cost-effective, and suitable for modern smart classroom environments.
KEYWORDS
This paper presented a Smart Attendance Monitoring Sys-tem using Face Recognition and Wi-Fi based Location Track-ing for smart classroom environments. The proposed sys-tem automates attendance management and reduces problems associated with manual attendance methods such as proxy attendance, time consumption, and human errors. The integration of face recognition and Wi-Fi verification provides accurate and secure attendance monitoring. The sys-tem is cost-effective, scalable, and user-friendly, making it suitable for educational institutions and organizations. The proposed solution contributes toward the development of smart classrooms and digital learning environments.
