Digital entrepreneurship has emerged as a significant driver of youth development, innovation, and economic growth in India. The rapid expansion of internet connectivity, mobile technologies, and digital platforms has created new opportunities for youth to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Government initiatives and policy frameworks, including digital infrastructure development, startup promotion, and skill development programs, have further strengthened youth participation in digital entrepreneurship. This study examines the role of digital entrepreneurship and policy frameworks in promoting youth development in India. The research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach to analyze youth employment, innovation, and economic empowerment. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire using Google Forms from 50 respondents selected through convenience sampling. The findings indicate that digital entrepreneurship provides flexible employment opportunities, reduces entry barriers, and enhances innovation among youth. However, challenges such as limited digital skills, financial constraints, and a lack of awareness about government policies continue to restrict youth participation. The study emphasizes strengthening policy frameworks, improving digital literacy, and enhancing financial support mechanisms. The research concludes that effective policy implementation, improved digital infrastructure, and entrepreneurship education can significantly enhance youth development and support sustainable economic growth in developing India.
KEYWORDS
The present study examined the role of digital entrepreneurship and policy frameworks in promoting youth development in India. The findings indicate that digital entrepreneurship has become an important instrument for employment generation, innovation, skill enhancement, and economic empowerment among young people. The increasing availability of digital technologies, internet connectivity, and online platforms has enabled youth to establish and manage businesses with comparatively lower investment and wider market reach. The study further revealed that digital skills, access to financial resources, and entrepreneurship education are the key factors influencing entrepreneurial success. Respondents recognized the importance of technological competencies, financial support, and entrepreneurial knowledge in establishing and sustaining digital enterprises. Government policies and support programs were also perceived positively; however, awareness regarding these initiatives was found to be moderate among respondents. The study identified a lack of financial resources, limited digital skills, and inadequate awareness of government schemes as major challenges faced by youth entrepreneurs. Overall, strengthening digital literacy, financial accessibility, entrepreneurship education, and policy implementation can significantly enhance youth participation in digital entrepreneurship and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development in India.
