GEO Tracking of Waste – Garbage Locator

Abstract – Urbanization and population growth rate is the reason for the increased area of dumpsites. Wastes are collected by the municipal corporation trucks at an interval of time. Some areas need more attention in collection of garbage than others, as there may be excess of waste dumped in one particular place resulting in wastes littered around the bins. This project aims to increase the efficiency of the garbage collection by properly tracking the waste.
The public can capture images using mobile camera and is sent to the admin. The location of the waste is mapped using the location tag in the image. The location information with the latitude and longitude are gathered. The admin notifies this information to the nearest
garbage collector to clean the waste and in return the acknowledgement is sent to the sender.
From the meta data collected from the image shared by the user the location information is obtained using LocationIQ API, PHP composer and PHP mailer is used to write the data to excel sheet and send the data through mail respectively. All of these data are stored and retrieved in the cloud there by using Cloud Computing Technology.
