At the International Journal of Scientific Research in Engineering and Management (IJSREM), we’re committed to a clear and fair process for all authors. This policy explains our guidelines for article processing fees, refunds, and cancellations.
Our Publication Process
Peer Review and Acceptance: Your submitted article goes through a thorough peer-review by our expert team.
Confirmation: Once your article is accepted for publication, we’ll send you an official confirmation email.
Article Processing Charge (APC) Payment: After acceptance, you’ll need to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC). Payment instructions and deadlines will be in your confirmation email.
Publication Begins: As soon as we receive your APC, we immediately start the publication process. This includes copyediting, typesetting, formatting, proofreading, assigning a DOI (if applicable), and preparing your article for online publication.
Refund Policy: No Refunds After Payment
Please read this carefully.
Once the Article Processing Charge has been paid, IJSREM has a strict “no refund” policy.
Why no refunds?
Work Begins Immediately: When you pay the APC, we immediately allocate significant resources, time, and professional expertise to your article. This includes editorial work, peer-review management, copyediting, typesetting, layout design, and administrative support.
Irreversible Services: Our services are intangible and cannot be “returned” or “resold.” The moment work begins, resources are expended that cannot be recovered.
Your payment of the APC signals your firm commitment to publish with IJSREM. You acknowledge that our team will promptly begin extensive work on your manuscript.
Article Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawal Before Publication (After Payment)
If you decide to withdraw your article after paying the Article Processing Charge but before its official publication, we will remove it from our queue.
However, no refund of the Article Processing Charge will be issued, as our editorial and pre-publication work would have already begun.
Withdrawal/Removal After Publication
If you request to remove your article after it has already been published in IJSREM, we will remove it from our online database. If a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) was assigned, it will be disabled.
No refund of the Article Processing Fee will be initiated for articles removed post-publication, as all publication services would have been fully rendered.
Important Information on Refunds (As per Indian Law Principles)
While specific “no refund” laws for all digital services don’t exist in India, Indian contract and consumer protection principles generally uphold clearly stated “no refund” policies, especially when:
Services Have Commenced: Our policy explicitly states that services begin immediately upon payment. The journal incurs costs and commits resources specifically for your article, which are not recoverable if a refund is sought.
Clear Disclosure: This refund policy is clearly communicated to you before any payment is requested. By making the payment, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
Irreversible Services: The services IJSREM provides (peer review, editorial processing, typesetting, publication, digital archiving, DOI management) are largely intangible and irreversible once initiated.
Opportunity to Review: You have every opportunity to review this policy before making payment. It’s your responsibility to fully understand these terms before proceeding.
By submitting an article to the International Journal of Scientific Research in Engineering and Management and paying the Article Processing Charge, you agree to this Refund and Cancellation Policy. We urge all authors to review these terms carefully before making any payment.
